"Fight Fire with Light" means turning darkness into light, and anger and violence into unity and peace January 6 should not be a date that forever divides America. Light4America wants to reclaim January 6 and make it a brand new day of unity, tolerance and respect. It all starts with our interfaith candlelight prayer vigil on Capitol Hill! We supported and communicated with the nationwide "January 6 Vigils for Democracy" events https://www.mobilize.us/democracyvigils/ that took place around the USA. We hope to work together to Fight Fire with Light!

Redefining January 6 is just the beginning. We hope our prayer vigil can help develop a non-partisan, interfaith movement to protect democracy and help unite Americans around core values opposing violence and intimidation, while supporting faith that unites not divides, free and fair voting, confidence in our elections and respect for ALL Americans. Let people of different faith traditions (including nonbelievers) unite us around the cause of a better America and show politicians there's still common ground and a better way!

Each January 6 come to the U.S. Capitol to prayerfully reflect on last year's attacks and pray for a better America. No partisan speeches or signs, just interfaith prayer and singing. Bring your smartphone or a battery candle to silently pray or meditate (the rules prohibit open flames)--because some people respect the law and our brave Capitol Police! Light is hope, love, understanding but ultimately it is FAITH in something bigger and more important than ourselves. It all starts by saying no to violence, intimidation and lawlessness in our elections.
Here is the video that lays out the vision of Light4America in empowering people of faith to create a new chapter for America on January 6
Sign up to hear about details for supporting a new kind of January 6 that unites, not divides. Let us know if you are interested in attending or just more info--and if you want your own battery operated candle!
